I am a PhD student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago (since 2024), advised by Prof. Shuangning Li. I also work closely with Prof. Xinran Li, Prof. Tian Li, and Prof. Linwei Xin.

My research sits at the interface of statistics, machine learning, and operations research. I am currently most interested in the theory of large language models and in mechanism design for human–AI collaboration.

Before Chicago, I received my B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Peking University. During my undergraduate years I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Ruixun Zhang, Prof. Linjun Zhang, Prof. Jing Dong, and Prof. Pengyi Shi. After graduating, I spent a summer as a visiting scholar at the University of Hong Kong, hosted by Prof. Zhixi Wan and Prof. Xing Hu.

I am always happy to talk about research or potential collaborations. Feel free to reach out at qichuan@uchicago.edu.
